Apparently, Google is forking Webkit and going it’s own direction which they’re calling “Blink” because of architectural differences and they felt development was moving forward too slowly. Thankfully, this doesn’t mean more browser extensions. Surprisingly, Opera, who just recently announced (Feb 2013) they were moving from their own presto engine to webkit has decided to adopt Blink.
